ELEQUANT GAINS NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TRANSMISSON EXPERT
Bob Stuart, former top PG&E executive, will direct new business efforts
San Francisco, June 13, 2005 – Bob Stuart, a recognized expert in power systems operations and protection, is joining EleQuant, a San Francisco-based technology and software development firm, as the Director of Business Development. Stuart will also serve as the company’s principal transmission and distribution consultant.
“Bob Stuart is a great addition to the EleQuant team,” said Regina Llopis-Rivas, EleQuant's CEO. “His knowledge, experience and reputation will help the company introduce our innovative technology to U.S. utilities. His technical expertise will help EleQuant continue to refine and improve our products.”
Most recently, Stuart served as principal of Transmission and Distribution division for Nexant, an energy consulting firm. Previously, Stuart worked for 35 years for PG&E where he led major initiatives in protection, transmission, control, automation and disturbance analysis.
During his tenure with PG&E, Stuart served as the transmission team lead for the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) in investigation of the Northeast August 14th, 2003 blackout. Mr. Stuart also chaired an operating capability study group, after the August 10th blackout on the Western grid in 1996, which developed the methodology and procedures to restore the reliable operation of the Western United States electrical grid
