Regina Llopis-Rivas
President and CEO of EleQuant
& Co-Founder and CEO of Grupo AIA
Dr. Llopis-Rivas founded GRUPO AIA and serves as the company's chief executive officer. She was professor of Mathematics at Universidad Simón Bolívar in Venezuela and visiting professor at Universidad Católica in Chile and the IBM Research Center at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She was also director of the Parque Cientifico de la Universidad de Barcelona (University of Barcelona's Scientific Research Park), and was chosen to serve as an advisor to FECYT, Spain's recently established national foundation for science and technology. She holds a PhD in mathematics applied to artificial intelligence from the University of California, Berkeley.
Antoni Trias-Bonet
Co-Founder, Vice President of
Research and Development of Grupo AIA
Dr. Trias-Bonet is the main developer of AIA's algorithm for real-time grid observation. He was professor of physics at Universidad Simón Bolívar in Venezuela, and Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, Spain. Trias-Bonet was a visiting professor of physics at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, the Physics Institute of Montevideo, Uruguay and the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. He is also the author of more than 50 international research publications in high-energy theoretical physics. He holds a PhD in Physics from Universidad de Barcelona, Spain and has completed post-doctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley.
John Sell
Vice President and General Manager of EleQuant
Mr. Sell brings more than 15 years of electrical industry experience to EleQuant. For more than a decade, Sell has managed national sales programs for power quality measurement/mitigation and electrical equipment. He was also the Basic Measuring Instruments (BMI) product manager for the Electric Power Research Institute's (EPRI) 1990s Distribution Power Quality survey that, for the first time, measured industry-wide electric power quality in the U.S. Sell received a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and his Master's in Industrial Administration from Purdue University.
